Elliebells Pottery is a sole trader business run by Ellie Bartlett, working from a home studio in Keynsham, Bristol. Under UK GDPR I'm the data controller for any personal information collected through this site. You can reach me at hello@elliebellspottery.co.uk.
This site doesn't sell anything, doesn't have accounts, and doesn't have forms. The only personal information I get is what you choose to send me by email.
When you visit the site: I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see simple, anonymous visitor statistics — how many people visit, which pages they look at, roughly which country they're in, what kind of device and browser they use, and which website sent them here. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't identify you, and doesn't follow you around other websites. I only ever see totals, never individual visitors.
When you email me: your email address and whatever you put in the message. I keep emails so I can pick up the thread next time you get in touch.
Emails are kept under legitimate interest — so I can reply to you and pick up the conversation later. The anonymous visitor statistics are also collected under legitimate interest: they help me understand whether people find the site through markets, Instagram or search, so I know where to spend my time. If we go on to agree a commission, the details needed to make and deliver it are held under contract performance, and any records needed for tax are kept for HMRC's six-year requirement.

I never sell your data. I never share it for advertising. Beyond the providers above, no one else gets it.
This site doesn't set any cookies and has no advertising trackers, so there's no cookie banner. Fonts and images are served from this site itself. The only extra is the small Cloudflare Web Analytics script described above, which doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device.
If you'd rather not be counted at all, most privacy tools and ad blockers block it automatically, and the site works exactly the same without it.
Email correspondence: as long as the conversation is useful, then deleted. Records of any paid commission: six years, because HMRC says so. Visitor statistics are anonymous totals and are kept by Cloudflare for a limited period under their own retention rules.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask me to tell you what data I hold, correct anything that's wrong, delete your data (subject to the HMRC retention rules above), stop processing it, or send a copy to you or another provider. Email me and I'll handle it within a month. There's no charge for reasonable requests.
If you think I've handled your data badly and I haven't put it right, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I'd rather you came to me first so I can fix it, but the ICO is your right.
