I'm Ellie Bartlett — the hands behind Elliebells Pottery. I work from my own studio at the bottom of the garden in Keynsham. Every piece is thrown, trimmed and glazed by hand — no production runs, no shortcuts, no two pieces quite the same.
My work is rooted in everyday life. I make bowls you eat from, favourite mugs for your morning coffee, jars that keep flour or biscuits, vases for garden flowers. Functional ware, made well, in a calm and considered palette.
The palette
I'm drawn to soft sage greens, deep midnight blues, warm creams on speckled stoneware clay, and the occasional rose pink or pale blue. I glaze each piece by hand, and a lot of the magic happens inside the kiln — the way a glaze breaks across a rim, or pools at the foot of a bowl, is something you can guide but never fully control. That's part of what keeps it interesting.
The studio
The studio is small but it's mine — wheel, glaze table and shelves all under one roof. There are usually pots at every stage: greenware drying on shelves, bisque waiting to be glazed, finished work boxed up before it goes to a fair or in the post. Music on.

You'll also find my work in person at local fairs around Bristol, Bath and Keynsham. I post regular updates on Instagram when new pieces are finished, and I'm always happy to chat about commissions — wedding gifts, special birthdays or a replacement for a much-loved bowl.
